What is the East Surrey School Sport Partnership?

The ESSSP consists of 10 Secondary schools, 2 Further Education Colleges and 67 primary schools (of which 10 are Special schools, both secondary and primary) all state maintained. Funding for this programme is provided by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

The Partnership Development Manager (PDM), Kent Tristram is responsible for the strategic development of the ESSSP and liaison with other agencies. At each of the secondary schools we have a School Sport Co-ordinator (SSCo) who is responsible for the co-ordination and development of after school activity, out of school hours learning, inter and intra school competition and local community links in their own school and partner primary / special schools. The Further Education Sport Co-ordinators (FESCo) perform a similiar role as the SSCo's but only within their respective college's.

And finally we have 67 Primary Link Teachers that are responsible for the development and delivery of a high quality Physical Education and an out of school hours sport programme within their own school.

What we aim to achieve:

Public Service Agreement (PSA) target

85% of 5-16 year olds spending at least 2 hours on high quality PE and sport by 2008 (within & beyond the curriculum), with every school in the partnership achieving at least 75%.
